We surveyed over 1,200 RPNs. The results are alarming.

WeRPN’s research provides a stark outlook on the worsening healthcare crisis across the province. Today, 91% of nurses have directly witnessed patient care being negatively impacted due to ongoing staffing issues. The findings reveal a healthcare system under severe strain, at risk of collapse.

Ontario could suffer from a greater loss of care.

The state of Ontario’s healthcare system is driving many nurses away from direct patient care on the front lines, prompting some to consider leaving the province, and some to consider leaving the profession entirely. 1 in 5 nurses surveyed are considering moving outside of Ontario and 6 in 10 nurses say they will, or are considering leaving the nursing profession.

How can nurses take care of us, when we can’t take care of them?

As the demands of our healthcare system grow, 76% of nurses say they do not have the time or resources needed to deliver the best possible care to patients, residents, or clients. Nurses today are reporting continuously growing workloads, unmanageable nurse-to-patient ratios, and significantly more stressful work environments.
